Should be OK in the washing machine. They don’t have to be bone dry, just hang them & allow to air in the cab.
You can wash curtains but you cannot wash white bell-tassels without simply creating a soggy lump. You need to buy a new set,

Hmmm, very lucrative for the sellers of curtains
You can just cut all of the frills off with a pair of scissors and then wash them in a washing machine but otherwise tasseled curtains aren’t washable.
Don’t wash them get them dry cleaned instead it’s a far better job and no damage caused to them

My wife manages to wash my tasseled curtains just fine Harry, she puts them on using the wool setting on the machine and they come out fine.
Yes, what I should have said was “It’s not possible for a bloke to wash tasselled curtains etc”
Best way I’ve found of washing them is as follows.
Get a metal bath in your garden
Put said curtains in bath
Pour petrol on them
Let them soak for 5 minutes
Put lit match into said bath
Wooooossssssshhhhhh
Job done it wont clean them but thats one less pair of tacky frilly curtains in this world
Try This
