Classic Truck Magazine

I gave up with the mainstream truck magazines years ago: Truck+Driver/Trucking etc, (if they editors are reading, they are pants, sort it out) but saw this in Smiths earlier and picked it up.

I think it’s the first issue, correct me if i’m wrong.

In the intro spiel it says it plans to cover the trucking scene from the mid 70’s up to the early 00’s. So will probably be the sort of era a lot of us are interested in.

Being of the younger generation, ancient trucks of the Hell Drivers type era, whilst interesting, don’t really have a lot of meaning for me, but I like the 70’s onwards stuff. So the heritage magazines are a step too old for me too. This seems to fill the gap.

It’s a bit thin on content at the moment, at just over 60 useful pages, and I don’t know how much stuff they will be able to find to run with it, but might be interesting.

Anyone else seen it, or have any thoughts?

Launched at the Retro Show at Gaydon on Sept 16th. Quite a big thread about this magazine in the old lorries section.

Ah, I missed that, thanks. (Don’t often read that forum  )

It’s only quarterly at the moment but I agree, it’s much better than the other truck magazines.

Has anyone got issue 2 yet (Winter)? It says on sale in December but I can only find issue 1.

I too was going to ask if anyone has seen issue 2 yet? I see the kelseyshop webpage for it has gone.

Issue 2 is now available in WHSmith; Bought mine this morning, looks very good.

I’ve bought this mag aswell, i’ve got the one with an f16 on the cover, its very good. I like T&D but not really interested in all the tarted up trucks it seems to be full of, i like reading about proper trucks, the ones men drive.

:frowning: I cant find issue 1 anywhere near me, Leeds, could anyone get me a copy and I’d PayPal you for it and postage?

Saw it advertised on the Kelsey web page the other day now no sign of it

It was free with last months Classic and Vintage commercials.

Not bad actually although there is one with Heritage Commercials which is similer
