MUST HAVE ■■■■ PASSAGE BIG ENOUGH TO HOLD A BRUSH TO SWEEP UP !!
The problem is, in today’s current climate blah blah blah, someone will snap it up because people can’t afford not to. It’s disgusting that they’re offering that kind of money, and the only people that will be willing to do that job are the people that have no driving experience, just the FLT.
there was a one round here the other day offering £6.31ph
i noticed the agencies are lowering their rates aswell.kin ■■■■’s me off,not only have you gotta be a forklift and crane operative but they want it all done on the cheap.the job realy has’nt got any better !!
They want an awful lot for the money… Fact is you get what you pay for and if they do land a new driver that learns quickly and turns out to be a natural he’ll soon be off after 6months a year once he’s got some experience, yet the funny thing is I bet they’ll only take someone on who’s 25+ and has 2 years experience.
I quite like the “otehr paperwork” in the advert
but it is what it is! for i presume the walsall area… I for one would rather be doing it then nothing if only using it as a steping stone till something else turns up…
There is a guy I know who makes pork pies, he advertised for a van driver (2.8 ton) paying 7.50 an hour delivering to local butchers and shops, he said he had the usual idiots apply but couldn’t get anyone to work for the money. Not hard work and finished by 3 daily, 7am start, you could even take the van home if you wanted to. In the end he paid for his grand daughter to learn to drive and she now does the job. Not massive money but still half decent compared to what is about now.
What is ‘otehr paperwork’ anyway?
Probably something I know, but can’t quite figure it out…
Perhaps the person advertising isn’t too bright, so not expecting applicants to be either…?
There’s an old saying, “If you pay peanuts all you’ll get is monkeys”.
my old man was always saying about some folk will do more for a lower wage then for a higher wage, tbh he as been right in a lot of cases… look at the higher paid always talking about strikes, better conditions, yearly pay rises ect ect, then lok at those on the minimum wage you hardly hear anything off them and they never seem to bother with conditions, just do whats asked of em…
I am sure they will find a Pole to do the job, or a mug.

Some wont like this but the way I used to think was what’s the point in working so hard for peanuts when I can go on the dole and do ■■■■ all and get my rent paid in full and my council tax. These 2 are £480 total a month then I get my £65 per week or whatever it is now, that’s another £260 per month.
In total I used to work out that I would get including rent and council take a total of £740ish a month for doing yes jack crap. So why would I work for £6 odd per hour and work ■■■ off and only get £150-£200ish more per month ?
It is right it is why alot of English unemployed don’t work or refuse to work as these low paid jobs are all they get offered and i know they think along similar lines to what I did.
In the end i trained myself up as i wanted to earn decent money, and i got a £8.50 per hour job but I refused to take any less as it wasn’t worth my time compared to what I was getting.
The system needs something done to it
talking of Class 2…a lady friend of mine fancies becoming a driver.has anyone on here recently passed their test? wondering how much a course is these days?

i,m the opposite, never signed on and would/have done jobs like this rather then sign on, reason is cos i have seen folk get caught up in the benefit system and before they know it they have been on the dole for years and end up having no intention to find work… but totally agree its the system… if i was in power then there would be time limits in how long you can be on benefits… the current system will end up bankrupting the uk…

I did mine 3 years ago £1350 all in I’m not sure if its much different today ?
But As stated the system needs sorting because there’s alot of English who won’t work for a min wage. This in return makes the poles etc take the jobs

I paid a similar amount not including theory tests, medical, dcpc module 2 and 4 my total (without re tests) was £1800 I wouldn’t expect much change out of £2000
Rather go stack shelves or summinc for £8/hr+ than drive a truck for £6.50/hr…

Same as you dl1uk I’d sooner shovel pig ■■■■ then sign on. This is why this countries ■■■■■■ up with people better off sitting on there arses. It won’t change either when some people are better off watching Jeremy Kyle and playing there Xbox all day then getting a job. Not having a dig keebs but its a sad state off affairs when people’s attitudes are made too easy for them by the current system.
I agree Karl86 but its not so much the person it’s the system at fault. It would be very interesting to see how many would get up off there arse if the min wage was lifted to say £7.50. I know that sort of figure would of seriously got me thinking hmmmm I would have x amount spare which is x amount more then I have on this dole.
Sorry there was no way I was going to work for £6 odd per hour after getting most of my bills paid for doing nothing.
I wanted to work yes that’s the difference because I signed on to the agency yes still kept my hours low so I could still claim and then i got a hiab and ADR paid for as i realised this would progress me. I then went into work with my hiab and have been employed full time since and I am happy. Why did I keep my job ? Because it made it worthwhile to work for £8.50 per hour. It gives me £600 spare after my bills each month which isn’t great but its better then the £260 on the dole
My point is alot of people will only work for a decent wage. At the end of the day most of us go to work for the money nothing else. Anything less then there better off sitting on there arse. Again the system is to Blame
