After passing my class 2 18 months ago i have been driving an 8 wheel tipper delivering sand, gravel and tarmac around East Anglia, i do enjoy my job but after having ago in my mates artic in the yard i thought it was time to do my class one, after a look online at training schools around ipswich i settled on Hamiltons as i had done my car test with him some 22 yrs earlier, after a phone call and an assement drive it was decided i would need 14 hrs training then my test, so i did 4 hrs on a sat, then the folllowing week i did 4 hrs sat, sun, 2 hrs monday and then my test, i only had to take the monday off work as holiday, the test went really well as i passed with no minors !
I told my boss i had passed and he said he will try and find me some artic work, but i think i will also keep my eye open as i dont wanna be on the 8 wheeler forever with just the odd artic day.
