When the were on autotrader last month they said 525 it also says 525 on the side of the cab, they had them up for 9k i think, 51 plate.
i always thought they were 525 but my mate dagv8 said there were 425s and ilooked and thats wot they said when i looked … and the scrap lad even phoned me and he said they were 425s but could chip to 525’s
get 1 bought jod!
washing the truck for you,
= cheap labour
Y94OEE. Did you have that painted Dag?
had the bottom half painted it was blue n grey when i got it
One of the nicest lookin motors on the road, and if MAN hadnt rushed ERF to launch it, it wouldv had a more robust interior! Apparentley 425 to 525 just takes a bit tapping on a lap top.
Makes a change to hear blokes speakin nicely of ERFs and not running them down. Class motors, well engineered, with one of the tidiest chassis arrangments your likley to see.
i couldnt fault mine it was a gud truck i ran it 4 18months and hardly had to put a spanner on it!
I ran an EC11 standard cab for 2 years, night trunking to Paris and back from Coventry Airport
in all that time, the only thing that went wrong was the idiot switch on the gearbox failed!!!
simple fix, cut the air pipes to it and join them together
only thing is, that will bypass the idiot switch, and it WILL go into low range at any speed
there pritty much bullitt proof in the rite hands!
Olympic Sovereign cab, 14Litre 525, a match for anything else on the road. With ERFs, from A to ECX, you always knew you were going to get a better truck, but you were never getting the unknown, you knew the gearbox instillation would be spot on, the brakes would be terrific and the handleing would be precise. Alot of manufactures try a bit too hard with latest designs, and you end with a 1st year full of technological headaches! the Actros springs to mind, and so do the early 4 series. Like Dag says, they good reliable bullitt-proof motors, they shouldnt have been made to disapear.
i wished they would of dun the twinsplitter in the ecx aswell as the ec best box in the world
You and 7000 other drivers!!! that ol box won many fans whilst in the E and ECs, me and me mate had an ex-United Transport E10 with a L10-290 and Twinsplitter, what a box that was, such a nice easy effortless box, made the small 290 a much more useable engine.
my 1st was when i use to shunt on the dock in a g reg strato!
i’m no fan at all but with some TLC and some bling like this it looks puka mate
dagv8:

you overtook me just after the junction
just doing what every car driver does m8 cut you up!
