Well finaly i can move up from driving those poxys 7.5 tonne vans to the rigids ( class 2 )
got agency work next week mon-fri for Dalkeith transport multidrop around central scotland.
Best of luck mate. Take it easy on the roads. Remember they are a bit bigger than your average 7.5tonner.

And less manouverable turning than some artics, no âcork screwingâ eh Dean. With one you gotta watch the headboard the other can have a â â â â â â â of a tail swing. Had one of them days today, ÂŁ500.00 quid snooper 7000 decided to take me into places where people start looking at the âwhats that big â â â â â â truck doin hereâ. Bloody glad I wasnât in an artic today going through the centre of Newcastle and Gateshead. I really donât like the mapping on the snooper good for scamras and speed traps though.

I have noticed if you miss a turn it will try to get you turned around no matter how stupid and narrow the re route. Even when youâve plumbed in the size of the truck. Maybe itâs me and the snooper that panic together
. I took a wrong turn in Newcastle city centre, 2 lefts on top of one another took the wrong one. The nav then started making up roads that didnât exist or else I need my map sorting.
I was trunking to Carnforth recently and the stupid thing used to take me throught the small town, until I checked a map and realised that I could just turn right third exit at the r/bout off the M6 juntion 45 and straight into Truckhaven. No matter what I did I could not get the snoop to direct me into that truckstop, even have the proper postcode from the truckers handbook.
For major routes and speed cameras itâs really good.
Use a S7000 also⌠not had any problems until just the other day.
was heading towards Wetherby from Harewood to join the A1, i could have tunred off down the A659
but the Torch relay was just about to leave Wetherby, so i thought i would have a wee look see⌠continued
down the A58, and the Snooper was having a fit trying to get me to turn around⌠kept saying there was a
weight limit and i must turn around⌠i knew there wasnt, even if there was there was no way you could turn
anyway.
Have also seen in places where it says there is a low bridge in places where there has never even been one!
I take on both your points. But then I donât follow it religiously. I use it in conjunction with truck atlas and google streetview.
I agree it tries to take you down some really crap streets if you miss your turn. But be sensible about looking at the street before turning into it and you shouldnât have too many problems.
cant beat a good map at the end of the day. plus use the sign posts on the street, thats what they are for
