Class 2 work in the Lincolnshire area?

Does any one know of any work in the Lincolnshire area?

I have my full CPC and Digi card.

I’m a new driver desperate to get my foot on the ladder.

Thanks.

your best bet is to try the agencys,or better still do some door knocking and show your face, leave your name and number with as meny people as you can, it does work, ps were abouts are you from?

Lincolnshire is a big place give us a clue roughly whereabouts you are

Grimsby area, no one wants to give me a chance!

You get that alot these days everywhere you go.

Keep at it mate it is hard. All the agencies wanted 2 years experience and every job I found in the job Center was agency :frowning:

try quayside mate, they on grimsby docks, they are looking for class 1 and class 2, also lincs turkeys are looking for class 1+2, worth a try mate,

Thanks mate, I’ll give them a try.

When I got my class 2 in 2005 I was 21 and had all the “over 25 with X years of experience required” but I got plenty of work from Best Connection in Scunthorpe until I had enough wedge to pay for my class 1.

Sign on with all the agencies, at this time of year, they’re usually too busy to be picky, do a good job and most places won’t quibble about you going back there in the new year :sunglasses:

I recently left a job for another better one and I had a choice of 3 offered! There’s work out there but they don’t advertise you have to do the rounds on the phone. Companies I know will give a new driver a chance are, Quayside, Hedges and John Reid out in brigg.

Forget Hedges, they dont have class 2’s! Biranplant and stoneledge also take new drivers on class 2, I started work for Brianplant two day’s after passing my test.

nice one, cheers.

Only having a class 2 is a real pain trying to get work going by the past experience of a mate.

I would have to disagree, when I passed my class 2 I walked straight into a job and had 2 other offers, it’s when I passed my class 1 it seemed harder to get a start with a new company. I forgot one in previous post! They are crap to work for but DeeBee also take on new drivers and because they are crap to work for they always need drivers! it’s hard work for slightly below average pay but it’s a job and I always found it easier to get a new job if you’re employed to start with

I got a start with them after having my licence about 6 months. I stayed for a month, went home one Friday and never went back and that’s the only time I’ve ever just walked out of a job in such a way in my life but I found it that bad! On the plus side they paid me for a further 3 weeks that I didn’t work and never asked for it back :grimacing:

Only reason I mentioned it is because it’s a job. I was lucky as I walked out of there on the Friday, went to see a man about a job on Monday and started Tuesday but I know it’s not as easy as that in current times
