Class 2 passed, but

As the title says i passed my class 2 on the 29th october and handed in my divinging licence and counterpart to the test centre(sheffield) for them to send it off to the dvla to update it. It is the 11th of november now and i haven’t received it back yet, am i worrying unnecessary that it hasnt come yet or should i be ringing them up.

My life at the moment seems to be waiting for the postman each day only to be disappointed because i want to get on with class 1 training. lol

Still maybe a few more days yet.

Keep checking on line and when your new cat C appears then look for postie in 2 days after !

Cheers, i wasnt aware i could check this online. It says…

Vehicles you can drive

Category C Start date: 29 oct 2014 End date: 10 Nov 2019

Vehicles you can provisionally drive

Category C1E Start date: 11 Nov 2014 End date: 10 Nov 2019

So looking at that it looks to have gone on.

Then your licence will be on way

That should be C+E not C1+E - check again or did you do a typo?

Assuming that was a typo and it actually says provisional CE you could now contact your trainer to arrange dates.

All the best, Pete

Wouldn’t it be both C1E and CE? Or do you get full C1E with full CE? (Or provisional C1E only with full C1? Or restricted C1E if you’ve got a pre 1999 licence?)

C+E covers C1+E

No provisional C1+E with pre 97 licence - to get that a D2 and D4 form must be sent

Truly thought C1+E came on old licences. C1 does obviously.

And while C+E pretty much covers you for any vehicle (provided it doesn’t have too many seats (9)), won’t the licence still read
AM (Maybe code 122)
A2
A1
A
B (Start date) (Expiry Date)
C1 (As above) (Ad nauseum)
C
D (Not here)
BE
C1E (After reading it appears pre C+E test, restriction codes 79 and/or 107 would be in place: extra info in brackets and not exceeding 8250kg, respectively. The second being standard for under 21 holders of C1E (Could be wrong here))
CE
DE (Maybe a restriction code? No idea)
fkp (Start date same as B)
gh
q (Restriction code 122?)
[something else maybe, I don’t have my licence]

When CE is on a licence it also hides a C1+E behind it - both are subject to the expiry date of the D4 medical

For those with pre 97 licences there is also another C1+E showing on the licence with a 107 code and an age 70 expiry date

C1+E 107 has a max total plated GVW/MAM of 8250 so a 7.5 tonner with a 750 kg plated MAM trailer or a 5 tonne GVW vehicle with a 3250 plated MAM trailer as but 2 examples

C1+E without any code has a max GTW (actual combined weight) of 12 tonnes

Any LGV C driver with a pre 97 licence will also have 2 x C1s on the licence with one hidden behind the C and subject to the D4 medical date with the other C1 showing an age 70 expiry date
Both the C1s are the same
