Class 2 Milton Keynes

Having just relocated to Milton Keynes, I am preparing to take my Class 2 and get on the road, after years of working in a warehouse.

I have been hearing a lot about the driver shortage over the past months. So my question is, what are my chances of finding class 2 work in the MK area once I have my licence and CPC, I’m gonna guess I will have to sign up with an agency, or is there a chance of finding a firm willing to take on a newbie straight away, what with the shortage and all.

I don’t mind what the work is as long as I’m out on the road, and earning.

Every Chance!

Class 2 and agency, get your tin hat on mate

I drove past a RPL motor with a sign that had LGV 1&2 drivers required on the back doors. No idea if they take on new passes but they run out of MK.

Top of my head-

I thought RPL/Bedfords (now) only ran Class 1s, might be wrong so worth a call, I know one of the bosses is called Danny but the pay is ■■■■ Poor.

Our lot are always looking for Class 2, WH Barley, palletline/local work, we’re in Old Wolverton, pop in & have a chat with Don/Operarations manager.

FR Cawley (waste disposal) in old Wolverton might take on newbies, Ask for Sid/Manager.

Serco/MK Household waste use an agency to employ drivers, might be worth asking an existing driver for details.

First Class Transport just outside Bletchley, on the way to Newton Longville, I think they do Palletways Local work, Big Roy or Gary are in charge up there.
DND in Leighton Buzzard.
Mini Clipper, Leighton Buzzard.
Glen Transport, Leighton Buzzard (used to do the papers overnight)
Waterdene Leighton Buzzard.
Norberts, Leighton Buzzard run class 2s (I think)
Action Express, MK are always looking for drivers. (Another overnight pallet company)

Biffa Milton Keynes might be worth a try.

I’d better stop now, or I might as well start up an agency. Lol.

Is domino,s mostly nights ? i heard its a hard crust if you excuse the pun

Domino’s are not a bad firm and the work is a pizza ■■■■!

I did a month on Dominoes, about 15 years ago, nearly killed me, 9 or 10 drops all south of MK, had the keys to most of the stores & unloaded myself into the fridges, each drop took a minimum 30 minutes, had to take my break whilst unloading or I couldn’t get finished in time, hardest job I’ve ever done, lasted a month then jacked & went on agency until I found a full time job at Cawleys driving a push out to landfills.

If you’re really struggling or desperate aspray have a depot in Milton Keynes and if there willenhall branch is anything to go by they’re always after drivers, they’re even training warehouse staff now to do class 1
