Class 2 driving test today and failed

So i had my class 2 today, i honestly thought it went pretty well but i failed on so many points that i wasnt even aware of when driving. Things like not checking mirrors enough, lane discipline and struggling with the width of the vehicle. These were all things my instructor kept bringing up time and time again but i guess i had a false sense of confidence that i had passed because i didnr have anyone sitting next to me pointing out my faults constantly. What really shocked and worried me was my perception of how well i thought idid compared to the examiners feedback. Like i wasnt even aware of my faults when driving, totally blind to it. I honestly just want to give up, the examiner i could tell was clearly not impressed. During the lessons i struggled so much on these points. My teacher didnt look that suprised that i failed. Should i give it another go? Because honestly after today i believe i will need many more hours of prsctice to truly get up to test standard. Right now i dont think HGV driving is for me. From what ive read online people are saying its easy and its not too different from driving a car. I feel uncompetant and deluded about my driving ability now.

It’s not class 2 but a pcv licence in most cases cost f.u.c.k all. I went from 7.5t to van to bus to class 1. 3 years of bus driving saw me do well at Class 1 and the pcv licence cost me nothing because I stayed with the company for minimum 3 years.

Yes you’ll have to put up with the sh.y.t.e that ride the bus but you’ll be in a better position to then get your HGV

If you are now looking at your own performance properly (it sounds like you are) then keep at it. It seems that previously you were over confident, but maybe you are now being more realistic, and more open to constructive criticism.

Maybe have week or two to reflect and get your head in a better place, so you can come back and take instruction better.
Talk to your instructor.

Good luck whatever you decide,

Listen to Paddy or get som practice in a smaller than Class 2 vehicle.
It is easy, once you’re used to the size of the vehicle. Maybe take it in smaller steps.
