I would say you would have a slightly greater chance of obtaining manual stimulation from the head of the Catholic Church.
thanks i will go to Rome then
Tony you either find a company from the UK
that will employ you when liveing in spain
or you take lessons in spainish that is
if you are not all ready fluent as where
ever you go abroad,if you can not communicate
with the locals how can you expect them to employ you
yes they will but not as a driver but cheap labour and
this happens where ever you go and can not speak their language
in mainland europe, sorry mate also take your class1 as this is
what you need to get a good job if you are lucky,
Brit Pete
Thanks for taking the time to reply, at the moment i am having spanish lesson’s.
So I best look into taking my Class 1 to move forward, thanks again
tony
Hi Tony, firstly i think you are going to find it vey hard to get a class 2 job, i have been here 3yrs class1 25 yrs experience and i cant get ajob only removals. Its good to hear someone taking lessons before they come here, know 2 words of warning ,firstly what they teach you in the uk somehow does not translate over here i took afew lessons and what i learned was that it was no good here, and, secondly where do you intend to live in what region because if like me you are coming to the valencian region they speak valencian which is not taught in uk.This region runs between valencia and alicante,if you have kids find out what they teach in school but here its valencian with 2 lessons of castellano aweek, after all this good luck and if you any question email me on here and i try my best to help you.
plenty of removal companies running down that way, I think most of them would be happy to get b a class 2 driver on lower wages
Your chances with only class 2 are practically nil I am afraid as work for that class of vehicle is either with Brit removal companies or Spanish tipper operators, most of the work that is financially worth while is all class 1.
Alf, I was in the big Truckstop at Guarrman (sp?) Friday night … it is KM288 on the A4 near Bailen. On their notice board were three adverts for drivers. I national and 2 international. Unfortunately, I forgot to take the numbers.
this is what i’m thinking it might be zb
do you want to live in Spain and work away
or do you want to live and work in your chosen area
this will requrie too different approaches
from people i know who live down there the best or better money is to work for the Spanish doing Spanish work
but you do ned a good grasp of the lingo
do you know ought but driving the building game is still fairly busy
the Foreigners we have here speak good English but on the driving side tend to stick to trunking and one hit jobs because of communication problems
i have yyet to see a new foreigner on multi drop work
Thankyou bear 4 thinking of me ihope to some good news got 2 interviews nextweek lets hope

Was that the Andamur truck stop? Im always passing there and could get the numbers for Alf
It was undoubtedly the Andamur truckstop at Guarroman - commonly known as Bailen truckstop as Bailen is the largish town nearby.
The only realistic possibilities for work are class 1 and that would be with Campillo Palmeras in Murcia, or CITMA in Malaga. It took me 2 years to get a job with CITMA as they dont advertise, you need to know someone who works there and the bosses ask the drivers to reccomend somebody if they need another driver. Both companies run internationally. The big problem is that the majority of trucks in Spain are owner driven.
If class one work is what anyone is after in Spain then according to a Spanish driver I was talking to in Italy last week Autrans in Algeciras (right next to Gibraltar) are always after drivers and apparently pay quite well. The work is varied and includes a lot of fridge trailer swops at Algeciras docks with fruit n veg from N Africa to all points north as well as most everything else. Wages seem to be in the 3000 euros per month take home region.

What a load of rubbish. I am perfectly fluent in English and still get abused as cheap labour and being called a pig (for me being german). Give this a break because people really do think that one hasn’t got a bloody brain because one is a foreigner. People simply like to exploit and also like to hate others. Very simple and very true.

A mate of mine worked for them a while back, they offered me work but it was bit of a commute
Who do you work for then Del Boy? Im working for one of the CITMA owners in Malaga.
I work for a Spanish fella with 2 trucks in Málaga, he drives 1 and I drive the other, mainly to Germany and Perpignan(France)
I’ll take the Perpignan & you take the Berlin…?
Perpignan certainly seems favourite to me - Im loading in Sevilla tomorrow morning for Aachen. No doubt more time messing about looking for a MAUT machine every time I go onto an autobahn.
