Class 2 driver in Baghdad

I was tipping in Southamton and the driver told me he had come back from Iraq in his 18 tonner, and the locals had shot the camels for fun.Said it so convincing that i almost believed him for a moment.

I’d be more inclined to believe they got shot in Southampton.

Dont know why he had to tell me a made up story like that,i had to laugh.

Bit off topic but when I was in army in and we were in Iraq I seen quite a few camels on the back of pick up trucks ratchet strapped down by their hump lol crazy middle easterners !

On the way to the market to be eaten maybe?

Same here!

I’d say to him “Son, I was in Baghdad when you were in your Dad’s Bag”.

Camels are worth a lot of money, so the story is complete tosh :unamused:
When I was on my Morrocan trip in 2008, we came upon many camel herders and traders in the desert and in the mountains…It is amazing to see £100K of camels go by you…And realise the owners are very wealthy, yet choose a nomadic lifestyle :sunglasses: It aint all about money and that experience was part of the reason for chucking in a very good job…It aint all about money :sunglasses:

camels are worth more than a human life to them.
just like here not too long ago. if you stole a horse, you’d be hung. but if you stole a mans wife, then he’d just have to get another one.
