I posted on here a few weeks ago about my driving school’s reluctance to cancel my test and reschedule it.
A few of you mentioned that a chat with the manager of a decent company should help sort something out.
Fortunately, the manager was decent about it. He gave my test slot to someone else. However, he could not guarantee that I would get another slot before the end of the year.
I was grateful for his help but my aim was to pass my Class 2 before the end of the year (preferably before Christmas, so that I could sit in my pants for a week).
The manager phoned me on 16th December and offered me 30th Dec, 10.15am. I was reluctant to have the test hang over me during Christmas but thought that I might not get a better chance - maximum people off work, schools closed = quieter roads.
I went for it.
I passed!
3 minors - 2 for driving and one for a shunt on the reverse.
I could not have asked for a better end to the year.
