Does anyone know where there might be work in or around Canterbury? Just got a house there and moving down there shortly.
Salvatori are after drivers but the money’s crap. In fact wages generally are crap in the whole CT area.
I’ve worked out of Aylesham that’s not far from Canterbury. There are a few yards in the area south of Canterbury including Salvatori and Yodel.
In Dover, you’ve also got Langdons. Together, Salvatori is pallet DD work, Yodel is parcel trunking, and Langdons is fridge work - all nights.
I only mention these three, as I’ve not worked out of other names in the area, so can’t speak from experience.
They must be short of drivers in the area, or I’d never get asked to cover runs down that way when I live in Medway.
Are Whites opposite Manston runway still trading?

Yes, and I’ve done a bit of casual work for them in the past, and the pay is (or at least was) slightly above average for the area.
You will be better of traveling up to the Medway towns . There’s always jobs up there and usually a cpl of quid an hour more . Downtons in Chatham always looking lately at 9.50 ph

edit add: Alan Firmin are virtually next door to Morrisons near Sittingbourne too. E H Nichols Sittingbourne.
Shepherd Neame Brewery Faversham.

I don’t get offered nights there very often, considering it’s my doorstep job and all that. If that’s a day rate being offered above though, come on up and fill your boots! Bring waders if on shunting when it’s ■■■■■■■ down with rain. The mud is deep enough to drown in.
Most of my work is outside of Medway, 'cos there ain’t actually a lot of decent-paid work to be had here.
Heritage, Dover are looking for a new driver …for their own trucks, ?

Lympne Ind Est isn’t that far along Stone Street from Canterbury. There are a few companies down there you could try.
