Tobes, that’s very unlike your usual polite self sir, you under the weather or you being ■■■■ blocked of late?

Morrisons @ Sittingbourne are looking too.

3663 Paddock wood and Brakes Brothers at Aylesford, these are a few I’ve spotted in Kent over the last few weeks.

I’m sure some are even offering DCPC training.

There definitely seems to be a higher demand for drivers.

The post did appear to be a tad rude, but i see posts about a driver asking about a firm that he/she has seen advertised.
They then ask what they are like for to work for on pay and conditions.
The comments on what the firm is like, are they have a certain colour of trucks.
I saw one in Reading services and the driver seemed happy with his lot.
We had on of their lorries deliver to our place last week.As above, some posters give vague responses to somebody asking for up to date and accurate information on a future employer.

Saw a Wincanton ad this afternoon in Northants. Artics. There are agency ads everywhere now. Some are offering “free dcpc” its true - but you’re gonna have to move fast to get signed up, and the course done in the few days that remain!
3663 paddock wood was deserted this afternoon - ie all the rigids are out on runs - august bank holiday weekend and all! :open_mouth:
This comes as a bit of a shock - if YOU were running a restaraunt - would YOU want your deliveries done when your place is full of people?
As for Brakes at Aylesford - I’m already nudging 40% of my hours this past year in there, so if anything I need to cut back a bit.

The ads for 3663 & Brakes are for rigids rather than artics as far as I know. The “free DCPC” is also about those willing to commit to rigid multidrop work - rather than Joe Average 53 year old driver wanting an artic job. :unamused:

Morrisons are currently only looking for night drivers at the moment.

I applied for a night driver at sittingbourne last year - got told it was earlies AND nights - and was duly knocked back.

I didn’t tell them “not to contact me” however (unlike Stobarts), so I must assume that these vacancies now are “nights to start, then resuming the rotate once the schools go back” which, would of course, still leaves me “unsuitable” for the post… :unamused:

I would have been quite happy with permanent 14:15 starts friday-sunday - which is what I thought I was applying for… :frowning:

The shifts they are trying to recruit for are ‘2200-0001’ ‘0001-0200’ and ‘0200-0400’.

Those would be the only start time blocks that you would be doing, as far as I’m aware I’ve not seen any shift patterns that rotate from nights to earlies!

Why do so many people leave Morrisons Sittingbourne?

Seany:
Why do so many people leave Morrisons Sittingbourne?

It’s a mixture of Waitrose recruiting, LIDL opening over in Northfleet, and because the rota includes some split shifts/reduced rests.

Also a fair few leave when they receive their rota and see that they will be working plenty of weekends…though I can never understand why you’d even apply for supermarket work if you’re not willing to work weekends?!
