I spoke to a company the other day about doing a tipping role. Never done this before and to be honest I was a bit confused about the pay. Your guaranteed an amount per day but paid per load and I think km done. Can anyone shed any light on these roles, can you make decent money and who are worth speaking to with only 1 years class one experience?
I don’t know the pay conditions of the company you talked to so can’t really comment on whether you could make decent money.
Bulk tipper work though is very easy. Very limited load interaction. Depending on what you are moving though if its scrap metal i wouldn’t want my pay based on km’s as you can wait hours at the big places to tip.
Thanks, I quite fancy doing it but not sure what companies out there. I would like to do it tramping if possible as hopefully be more money in hand than what I get.

I thought that was ruled out years ago for PAYE? it sounds like owner driver pay structure? And defo the pay per km
Ave earnings for tramping PAYE probs £500-800 take home a week depending on hours worked etc you can earn £900-1300 through self employed agy if you can get the work for tramping

Yeah Celsa Cardiff is right up there. Tata steel are bad, Sims Avonmouth can be bad.
Tata steel aldwarke?, used to be bad, not to bad lately tho, sims Avonmouth can be bad
Port Talbot, they are better now but you spend half a day in there before. I went down Avonmouth early before (5:30am when they open at 7am) and i was still number 32 in the line.
Have not been to other Tata sites up north for a while actually. Only done one day on the tippers in the last two weeks, been on flats and the curtainsider.
