Class 1 guaranteed Pass Training?

Are there any trainer providers out there who does guaranteed Pass courses for Class 1?

There are all sorts of schemes where you pay for more training and tests whether or not you need them. Better to get good training and get the first time pass IMO.

And, although not everyone is going to pass first time, we make sure we make no profit out of a fail. Any extra training is BOGOF and we actually loose on it. But it’s part of the service.

Not such a thing as a guaranteed pass, end off!

Go on recomendations when choosing your training provider.

The term “Guaranteed Pass” can be misleading as obviously things can, and sometimes do go wrong on the test.

There are however some trainers that back up their system of quoting for a course by offering free retest training when the candidate doesn’t pass.

There are also some trainers that see retest training as a valuable income source although you won’t find them on this forum.

Do some homework before choosing a trainer. Have an assessment drive or go on firm recommendations.

In short - yes plenty of companies do, often under “pass insurance” schemes where you pay say an extra £500 just in case you don’t pass, plus from what I’ve seen there are usually very expensive courses to start with.

Just remember to read the small print on anything like a guaranteed pass as it often doesn’t cover more than one fail within the price so the term “guaranteed pass” is very misleading and will include all sorts of exclusions such as “candidate must be competent” which is pretty much a get out clause for anything. Non of this will appear on their web site, it’ll purely be in the contract you sign when you go visit them and get the assessment.

If you’re looking at class 1, then presumably you’ve already passed class 2 so have a much better chance (although obviously not guaranteed) of passing the class 1 test since you’ve dealt with larger vehicles before.

If you want one of these courses, just google “guaranteed pass HGV”. First one I came across has a web site full of guaranteed pass, guaranteed interviews etc and possibly one of the most unprofessional web sites I’ve seen in many years with loads of mistakes…doesn’t give a good impression.

Forget the guaranteed pass angle, research your preferred trainer on here, then check/scrutinise their retest lead times and retest costs. It’s more important to get a QUALITY trainer than anything else, and from reviews, all of those who participate here are top notch!!!

What if you pass first time? You’ll have lost money! :open_mouth:

Best of luck!

Money isn’t the issue it’s just I failed miserably first time like 14 minors including 2 serious faults. I just want to pass it without worrying of retests again and again paying stuff. I would rather pay all at once.

If money is not an issue I don’t see what the issue is.
You know there is no way of guaranteeing a pass no matter what trainer you go with.
You could always give your training provider an extra £500 so if you fail you can go straight back and take another test.

Best thing to do is go with a trainer that provides quality training that suits you so you do not have to take a retest. I’m not very experienced with these sort of things but you got 14 minors and 2 serious. I’m guessing your instructor knew you was not ready for your test, yet put you in anyway. Which is just wasting your money.

Can see where you’re coming from crazyplay, but having done a little more research into these companies, it appears the “guaranteed pass” is anything but.

For example, one I found will keep training you for three months after you fail, but you’ve got to pay for the retests so essentially what you’re getting is the trainers time and the truck while on test. Then there’s the question about how soon will they be able to fit in your “retraining” which I suspect in many cases will be a month or two in advance (unless they’re really empty which should ring alarm bells) at which point you run out of re-tries. In the case of the one I looked at first, their prices are way above what you should be paying.

I suspect either nerves or a really bad trainer were involved in your training, but you might want to try someone who’s got a lot more good reviews and I suspect you won’t need any guaranteed anything. Are you wanting a local trainer or willing to travel a bit to find a good one?

Ones who seem to get decent reviews on here include:

elmetdrivertraining.co.uk/
tockwithtraining.co.uk/

…plus anyone from the DVSA accredited list of instructors & training schools:

Hope I not missed anyone.

Trevhcs thanks for the reply mate and the pack of information supplied as well. I am leaning more towards peter Smyth’s training course this time although its 92 miles away from me home. I am still thinking to what is good at this point mate.

I did both my classes residentially there, and the free B&B Pete uses I’ve not complaints about, which is rare!
Think I also benefited by not having any distractions and could focus on the training…

I went more than 92 miles for my CE from Newcastle to Chelmsford ( Flair training John LGV Trainer ) so don’t worry about it you won’t be the 1st or last to travel
