Class 1 day work or is it only class 2?

As the title reads does class 1 work require you to sleep the cab or is there day work?.
If not what type of work would daily class 1 driving be ie construction site deliveries etc?.

I have tried to look on google but the search comes up with class 1 tramping jobs and the like.

Only asking because im on the verge of booking my class 1 course and due to my son only being 2 i dont want to be away from him.

Thanks. I will do nights out when he is older and understands why im away for work etc. I just want to drive class 1.

I work for a family firm on general on class one and nights out are few and far between. About 8 so far this year.

Could be worth a look for a similar firm.

Have not done a night out. Will not do a night out.

I classify nights out as you looking after the truck for 9-11 hours for a pittance.

I’ve slept in trucks as a ‘relief driver’ but I was being paid my full hourly rate. I’d do this again - if I’m being paid a decent hourly rate.

Lots of jobs don’t require nights out.

Like yourself Sammy, EVERY night for me is a night out! :smiling_imp: but seriously, only cos we both work nights. There are lots of jobs doing day work. I would do nights out… for the right job, but I prefer my bed at night. If in the future any of the kids move home, tramping will be a temptation
