Well I’ve finally booked my Class 1 course with Peter Smythe. I start on the 13th of May and do the test on the 16th. Wish me luck everybody and keep it all crossed for me; God I’m so excited. I promise to keep a dairy of the event.
all the best

Good man. A good choice. You won’t regret it.
A diary always goes down well
Thanks Dar, Everytime I see a Downton truck now I wonder if it’s you. Did you manage to find work localy or did you have to move as you were once suggesting?
all the best

Aye part time truck driver , part time baker
Hi Rich , no dont do hgv permanently, Im a self employed taxi driver and fit the hgv work in when I can , last year decided to calm my work down as was doing too much with both jobs and was making myself ill unfortunately the hgv driving had to be scaled down , I now just drive for one company on class 1 who always ask me first if I can do it then go to agency if I cant do it ,so basically get first refusal if they have any work, and that seems to be suiting me fine , its for a company who deal with UPN and the run is a trunk up to the hub in Fradley Park Litchfield , unload , reload then back again , the company are great to work for and they use the trackers on the vehicles to have a cup of coffee waiting for you when u get back to the yard lol ,
It gives me my fix enough to still get the thrill of driving hgv but not having it turn into just a job best of both worlds
