Why do Class 1 drivers think they are so good. I freelance for companies (not agency) and drive anything from Class1 to beavertail transits. At the firm I am with at the moment its a Class 2. Artic arrives at the yard yesterday and asks what to do. I told him where to turn around and who to see. He then tells me his truck is actually easier to turn than mine and how you can reverse them blah blah. No ■■■■ Sherlock. I don’t bother to mention I’ve had a class1 for 30 years.
I’ve had the same thing from class 2 drivers when i use to go out in the 7.5t at my first job… From my experience i think class 2 only drivers have the most attitude, perharps it was just the pricks i worked out of the same yard with.

Really Midlifetrucker? I tend to find that most class 2 and puddlejumper drivers I encounter usually rush over to tell me that they’re actually class 1 drivers but their megagigaxxl is in for service and they’re only driving the little 'un to help the boss out!
It realy doesnt matter what you drive as long as your happy and earn a crust, my 28 yrs on artics didnt seem to make any difference when i spoke to a knob at an agency…who said because i hadnt driven a puddle jumper in the last 2 yrs he couldnt offer me any work…hows that for prejudice ! ill drive anything …i didnt say to him i dont want anything less than class one work…the knob i would guess has never driven a truck of any description…

i wouldn’t know, anybody who isn’t driving an artic simply isn’t worth acknowledging.
simply because these guys are so called kings of the road and artics rule,so it doesn’t really matter if you cant get an artic in the place smaller trucks are inferior.and before the kings start having a go my mate is a class 1 trunker and we did a mileage comparison one week and I did far more miles in my 7.5 than he did .The truth is all types of vehicles are needed end of and don’t forget some of the real old hands might have had their class1 taken away because of health reasons and so now drive a so called puddlejumper through no fault of their own!
Perhaps some of these rigid drivers who hold a class one licence can explain to me that why when I’m somewhere tipping 26 pallets you ask if u can tip your 1pallet in front of me?
If I was to let everyone round me who only had one or two I’d still be at my first ever drop! Ok so you have multi drop to do, stop rushing around and carving the job up then coming on here moaning about the rubbish money u earn or class one drivers getting in your way!
Oh and while all u class 2’s are having your annual conference perhaps you would like to mention that its courtesy to thank a driver with your indicators when he’s flashed u in on a DC or MW!

If I come across a rigid driver on the road and one of us has to yield, I expect him to allow me to pass without hinderence, for I am the better driver and deserve to go first.
