Hi all. Just started full time tramping which now involves mostly loading at various Tarmac depots. Now I had already owned all the PPE before I joined up with my current employer, however yesterday I was pulled up at Tarmac Barnstone depot for having safety trainers instead of boots and were reluctant to let me tip there because of this. So today I’ve purchased some boots but am just wondering if I could possibly claim for these through my employer as I wasn’t made aware that I needed boots specifically for the job? Thanks in advance!
Health and safety act 1974 states it’s an employers duty to provide employees with the correct PPE so they could either reimburse you or offer there own safety boots depending on their policy
