A grey area, they’d probably say that ‘your not available for work’ whilst your training! Proceed with caution.
I did my C+E in november funded by my dad while i signed on, it was not a problem just notify them of the dates and they postpone your sign on day till you are finished. If you are willing to better yourself and learn things the JCP help you.As of monday morning i have been put on a course with learn direct which is basic literacy and numeracy for 2 weeks which they insist i do, to earn a free CSCS card .The funding is from a central european fund before folk get on their high horses.
cant see why not dont tell them or ask them to pay for the driving lessons in the jobcentre
and tell them u are available for work and u can change ur lessons last minute if a job comes up
My missus managed to get a government-funded course to do her PSV, and she got JSA whilst she was on it. Paid for everything except her digi-card.
One word of warning; various departments of DWP don’t seem to be able to communicate with one another (nothing new there) so you have to be on the ball or they’ll keep cancelling your benefits.
@Roadrunner; good for you, doesn’t matter where the funding comes from if it gets you where you want to be.

I have also qualified for a free ADR course through the “rapid response unit” to qualify for this i must be out of work for no more than 12 weeks maximum,it apparently takes 6-8 weeks to receive a start date.
Thanks for the replies
Its for a friend who is taking his class 1 and is not claiming at the moment
