Circle Checks

This probably follows on from Truckyboys post about urinating in bottles and slinging it through the window.

Yesterday morning in Nottingham I drove down Lenton Lane past RH Renault and there was a tanker parked outside with the curtains closed. As I passed I noticed he had a flat tyre, I went around the corner and tipped, about an hours job.

When I came back towards the power station / motorway, there was a long queue, because this pillock had obviously woke up, started the engine, thrown his bottle out and drove off! By the time he had got to the motorway the tyre had come off the rim and he had blocked the inside lane at rush hour :exclamation:

It takes 5 minutes to walk round the truck :open_mouth:

On the other hand, Christian Salvesen drivers have a man employed to do the daily checks :open_mouth: I watched them in Birmingham this morning.

Each driver collects his truck and box or trailer, then drives towards the main gate, where this bloke then wanders round each trailer or truck and checks lights, tyres, road tax etc then gives the driver something to sign. Who takes responsibility here, the checker or the driver?

On another point, I have never seen such appaling driving as some of these class 2 men and women.

The trucks they use are as short as an artic unit, yet they were taking up to 3 shunts to reverse on a straight open bay.

I have seen bad driving in other CS depots too, is it just them?

salvesen…daily checks…do me a favour…lol
did 5 months for said company in Leigh and quit due to unsafe vehicles…im sayin no more :open_mouth:

Salvesen vehicles always seem to look like heaps of ■■■■ to me.

I lasted a week and a half at normanton and and all there vehicles were piles of [zb].

Sorry Bones, if it needs to be modified to beat the censor, it goes . Lib.

I allus have a quick walk round before setting off after a night out.

Walking anti-clockwise I check tyres, susies, curtain (for knife slits and tightness of straps), trailer clusters and reg plate, trailer contents to make sure it’s still there :open_mouth: and that it’s all still upright, same along the other side and finally, but most importantly, the fifth wheel pin and dog-clip.

I too always have a walk round after a night out - first thing I check is clip & pin then walk clockwise as I’m already going in that direction.

Takes all of 3 minutes - the number of people I’ve seen in a morning just open curtains start engine and go is unbelievable. It’s total madness and irresponsible :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I was parked at Hartshead W/Bd one night, back of the tilt was up agianst the trees.
Got up in the morning, found the dog clip out and the arm pulled out, so did a more than thorough check around. Nothing untoward found.
Driving through the terminal at Immingham and I was being chased by a fitters van, who told me tha back curtain of the tilt had a cut in it. This was the bit that was touching the trees, so I didn’t see it, this time, I will the next time.
Looks as though they cut me, didn’t like what they found, wallpaper, and decided to stuff me up if I just kicked the wheels and went.
Charming people. :open_mouth: :imp: :imp: :imp:
