Cigarette snatch

Had to laugh today, apparently police want to talk to a man who jumped In to the back of a moving lorry, filled bin bags up with packs of cigarettes then jumped back down and ran off ,this happened in Hamilton which I assume is scotland (never been to scotland) but it’s the old saying,he never hurt anyone and it took bottle to do it ,can’t understand though why the lorry was not more secure when carrying such a valuable cargo

Good on the chap if the driver and firm didn’t secure load properly and he was cheeky enough to try it

Agree

Whatever happened to honesty? If anything is unsecured,it doesn’t mean it’s there to be stolen.Did the lorry have an indication that cigarettes were being carried ? I would imagine that bin bags filled with cigarettes would be very difficult to run away with,so i think RDC B/S or accomplice nearby and insider knowledge somewhere along the supply chain.

Hamilton is inScotland. Its race course gets a mention in the film The Great Esacape.I think that its been an inside job.

It was probably an unmarked i.e. Plain white puddle jumper with a normal latch on the back, never locked by the driver cause he’s on multi drop and nothing ever happens.
The thief prob sneeked in at a set of lights with an acomplace in a car behind and jumped out at next lights. Driver wouldn’t be aware.
Very easy really if you know routes and vehicles.

If there even was a lock.

well it was in Hamilton.and hillhouse is such a nice area   .No doubt the police will be looking at the driver ,Did he break the seal so it was easier to open the door ■■? as the time arranged ■■?inside job is always the first option .So many questions I am not blaming the driver ,but these are the thing the police will look at ,always start with an inside job

If the driver wasn’t involved I reckon it will be a disciplinary or the sack

Bloody hell guys yet another thread title thats drawn me in under false pretences.

Well played

Unbelievable. Some scrotes rob a truck, probably costing a driver his job and some people on here are applauding them.

Personally I reckon it was an inside job, but probably not the driver.

Its a bad area for cigarettes getting stolen. I know a certain RDC who have had their trucks hit several times in Hamilton and nothing ever changes. Advice is always ignored even from a driver who was vetted to top secret and knows more about vehicle security than anyone else on site :unamused:

Remind me to nick you phone or wallet off a table in a pub when you turn your head for a secord. Or to walk in your front door while you’re in you bathroom having a dump.

I don’t need your wallet, just 2-3 seconds and an android mobile phone in close proxcimetey will get me all I need & save me the hassle of carrying it away.

Got coerced last night into going to play bloody bingo of all things with me uver arf last night and found a wallet some chap had dropped, so quick look inside for any ID and handed it in the a member of staff, bloke comes back so told him where it was and in appreciation he gave me a sealed envelope containing his bingo winnings for the evening … £15 (every little helps)
ps. well over a couple of hundred quid in the wallet too, imo opinion honesty is the best policy unless you’re a politician.
