Went to see the legend known as Chuck Plummer today he was most impressed with the model of his truck I think he was going to sign up to trucknet today I think we should look out for the post name of Amigo3.

BLOODY GOOD JOB! Then maybe i can have some photos of his SCANIA rather than some DAFt yorkie bars!

why yorkie bars

Blimey! Chuck Plummer.
I think his last truck as an Owner/Driver was a DAF. I think he used it to pull for the Lotus race team in the summer and then on General Haulage in the Winter.
Last I heard he was working for the Prodrive Aston Martin team.

As well as his truck do you remember his GS1000S, used to be a reglular at the local bike shows in the 80’s and early 90’s.

Because of this advert?

It’s one of the great ads of it’s time and is the reason some 30 years on truck drivers are still linked with eating yorkie bars.

Muckles, Chuck now works for Prodrive as you said but he is a top suit now, I keep asking him to log his trips in a Brit truck across the USA, they would make good copy. LE

sorry   last yorkie advert i seen had a scania in it :stuck_out_tongue:

I think there were various different trucks in the Yorkie ads over the years. But the DAF one was the original. Go on you tube for all the different versions.

Last time I saw him he was working for the Proton touring car team. But I heard he went to Prodrive. Thought he was still a truckie, but obvioulsy on to bigger things. I believe his son is working for Williams.
He’ a bit of a legend (for gowd sake don’t tell him that  ) in truckie circle.
I’ve heard all sorts of stories about him, like that mechanics were so scared of him they used to hide round the back of his parts truck and draw straws as to who was going to ask him for something.
Or if you made a mess of his trailer you’d get a yellow carded and couldn’t go back for a certain amount of time.

I called him a legend the first time i met him, he just rolled his eyes. Seen him a couple of times since at social functions. A fine fella to spend time with. Proper LEGEND material
