Hi Robert,

Where exactly in France was that picture taken?

  • Based on the white stone used as building material, I would imagine it being in the Northern half, say above a horizontal line stretching from Bordeaux to Lyon to Geneva.
  • The utilisation of bricks in part of the building would suggest an even more Northerly location, like somewhere around Arras or Amiens, or perhaps even as far North as St Omer or Dunkerque which would also be logical considering that you were probably on your way back up to the UK. But then even the South is sometimes plagued by poor weather around December February, so I might be humbled miserably…

Just for the fun of guesstimating where this might be
