hello mate

know someone who worked there a while back and that was delivering to marks and sparks but not sure what the contract is now.Anyway got a call from salvesens last week asking was i still interested in workin there so they are goin to send details out to me

let you know when i find out what it is

Hi Dave, thats why i was asking. I applied before xmas to work with them and they had nothing in the area. But they rang last week and sent a letter about working in Warrington. Just waiting on interview and assesment now.

I once collected a Ford saloon from one of their depots. It had been put into deep freeze to test the electrics. It thawed out on the ride back to Dunton. I thought I was going there to collect the managers car…& then they pointed to this frosty lolly in the cold storage area…Funny thing is it started & I drove it onto the back of the transporter,

I USE to work at Salvesens :imp: Don’t do it unless you are desperate

Dave who did you know

Wages were good for me but i worked nights and i did 13/15 hours every night the first year i made £32000, it was M & S but they do macains as well crap motors some were disgustong inside, Managers were total … fill it in your self i got suspended for starting work on time you were treated like something they had stepped, but don’t take my word for it that was 3 years ago if you speak to anyone called Mark, Alan or Rob think twice

farmfoods it is mate

Would have to agree with Daf on Salvesen.
Done some work for them a couple of years ago, through agy, on class2. From their Milton Keynes depot.
Delivering car parts in cages at night, key work.
Had three drops Tunbridge, somewhere else near by and finish up in Romford.
On the second drop the tail lift packed-up. Not a drop of oil in it!!! :open_mouth: . Checked to make sure it was working before leaving the depot but didn’t think to check the oil.
Tried to leave second drop, climbed into the cab only to fall back out with driver’s seat tumbling after me :imp:
Eventually get on the M25 for Romford, having already been assured that the lorry had been tagged for the crossing. Of course it hadn’t been and there I sat waiting for over 2hrs for some one at Salvesen to sort it out. I only had my tea money so didn’t have enough on me to pay it.
I was running out of hrs and decided to turn the lorry around and head back to MK. It finished up with me dumping paperwork, lorry keys and drivers seat on the manger desk!!

Never again…it was one of my first jobs after gettin my class 2.

Devon Baptism of Fire…
