Yes true. We are learning schoolboy french to welcome our new masters.

Christian Salvesen’s final set of results as an independent business show a rise in profit. The company posted a 16% rise in underlying pre-tax profit, to £7.2m, for the half year to September, ahead of Norbert Dentressangle’s £254m buy-out. The European Commission is expected to give the go-ahead for the deal later this week.Salvesen believes its UK transport operation benefited from a turnaround plan put in place earlier in the year, including new systems to increase productivity, more investment in purpose-built sites, an improved fleet and modified pricing. The results were boosted by Salvesen renewing with several existing customers, such as Marks and Spencer and Birds Eye.
A Salvesen spokesman says the acquisition by the French transport firm has been "welcomed by employees and customers alike". He adds: “There is a strong strategic fit between the two companies: our operations are complementary and there is limited overlap. Together, we will make a stronger operation spanning 13 countries and providing an expanded range of services across a wider geographical area.”

i was working for Sheddick transport back in the 90’s when he sold out to norbert Dentressangle
the french are ruthless good luck
in those days the UK drivers were given renault managers 340bhp to drive,at least we were given magnums all 385 bhp oh and a nice red annerrack to wear
we got old style 05 plate premiums and the new style premium…new ones are really nice to drive
Heard this a while ago after I asked someone about the vast number of foreign Norbert trucks you see on the roads here and what they were carrying.
the calais trucks and the polish subbies quiet a few are returning with beer from burton to calais and a few just go back empty talking to dave from calais depot just b4 christmas about it
a little side issue, all Marks and Spencer warehousing and transport is now in overseas ownership. DHL(german), Gist (also german owned) and now Salvesen( french) a sign of the times
