One of our motors was behind a tipper near burwell on the A14 …a couple of stones come off his motor hit the road and then the screen…I’ve spoke to the company and they are saying it wouldn’t be their vehicle that the stones come from as he was carrying top soil (which I’m sure has stones in) I said I was going to call the old bill and report it to them …A.will I achieve anything from that ?
And
B.what route would u go down to sort this?
Unfortunately, you will be wasting your time, the police won’t be interested
It is one of those cases where your driver was driving too close to the tipper in front of him, and now you need to get the windscreen either repaired or replaced
We have had it twice before and called the firm and they have coughed up …if the ■■■■ in front would have cleaned his load that was over the tailgate and on the top of the sides of his motor then we would have this situation …

If your driver hadn’t been travelling so close behind teh you wouldn’t have this situation either.
Easier to blame the tipper.
Container driver knocked my mirror off a couple of months ago but there are elite do can’t bad mouth them. Mind you I saw him on the a12 yesterday and ran him off the rd do it’s all ok.
Complete waste of time trying to do anything IMO. If it’s just a chip you’ll get it repaired on your insurance for free and if it needs a new screen it’ll probably only cost you a 50quid excess anyway so it’s far easier to just cough up. There’s no way you could ever prove it either way anyway.
It’s deffo a new screen job will have to stay as it is for a few weeks till we hopefully get it painted then have the screen put in…just for the record our driver was over taking not sitting up the arse of the tipper driver
Are you the Scotty’s with the Volvos on containers. If so i saw one of your motors Thursday evening solo on A14 nr Cambridge with the middle axle down. Whats that all about then?
If its a tipper it may not have come from the load. I admit I have from time to time gathered mud and stones between my drive wheels on dirty sites (usually muck away ect) and although I try to clean what I can out, you can hear them flying off when picking up speed… I do try to tare ■■■ on a straight with no vehicles round if I can.
