So this is a ‘Broken’ IBC of Adblu, luckily not punctured, in our yard, nicely placed in the back area of our diesel pump, where approximately 50 wagons reverse to fill up.
Question is- who is the biggest Chimp ?
A, The Monkey/Driver who reversed into it [emoji85] ?
B, The Gorilla/Forkie who placed it there [emoji87] ?
C, The Chimps/Management for allowing it to happen (Lack of Risk Assesments) [emoji86] ?
(Bare in mind that I did warn them back in the summer, when they moved the diesel tank to illuminate the area & put hi viz markers on it to stop this sort of thing happening)
D, All three, [emoji85][emoji86][emoji87] I just work for a Badly Managed & Staffed Company ?
(& I really should start looking for another job, before something really Impressive happens)
Just to add, it’s Pitch Black once the Sun’s gone down !
Happens every day apparently, every 24 hours, maybe I should bring that to the Managements notice, in their nice Air Conditioned, Brightly Lit Offices.
We had a similar problem at our place, so the management helpfully put one of those LED spotlights on a pole; which shines right into your offside mirror when you’re reversing up to the tank!

I’d suggest the management won’t care until they find they can’t get their deposit back on that IBC!
And that’s where their care will end…
Although I’m sure they will be annoyed at the “know it all” driver who pointed out that issues/problems would occur!
Lol, I send them emails on a regular basis, I love to keep saying “I told you so”
One of our 7.5 ton drivers pointed it out to me this morning, saying that he’d hit/touched it last week & someone had ‘Mullered’ it since, I asked him if he’d mentioned it in the office & he said no, so what chance have we got ?
Our Chief Chimp caused over 2k of damage to one of our new tractors in the summer, always rushing about, he’s had numerous knocks & bangs & last week he pulled all of his Suzies out & he’s still working here,
m1cks:
If all the drivers know it’s there and they’re still hitting it EVERY day then I’d say management is at fault…for not hiring more competent drivers.
Can’t get decent drivers Mick, the company’s got a bit of a reputation in the local area & they don’t want to work for them, even the agency struggles to get drivers.
There’s a few of us that care about our jobs & motors, but it’s the half a dozen Monkeys that Screw it up for the rest of us.

Proper Floodlights are the answer, but cost money !
What’s cheaper Decent Lighting or constant damage & insurance claims ? What’s gonna happen when someone gets killed ?
(We’ve already had 2 people run over by forklifts during the last year, causing reportable injuries & time off [emoji603])

Is this the same firm that was blocking the industrial estate when the vehicles were getting back at night?
Sounds like your too good for them and need to get out sooner rather than later

Yep, you got it, trouble is- it’s on my doorstep, Monday to Friday, home most nights & I don’t need to earn mega bucks because my house is paid off, I just cringe every day as I go in through the gate & see ‘What’s happened each morning’
It’s good for a laugh & as long as they keep putting a few coppers in the bank each week I’ll stay for now.
Apparently Waitrose are hiring now, looking for 200 drivers, but it’s shifts covering all hours & weekends, so the only way I’d look at it would be through an agency Monday to Friday.
(But I hate Agency’s [emoji107])
You should give Lantmannen Unibake a shout Martin. Based on Maidstone Road, own account, ■■■■ easy and clean work. We load out of there all the time, no idea of wages but the drivers seem happy enough.

Cheers Moaster, I’ll bear it in mind, if it goes ■■■■ Up, I know the place, opposite Cosco, used to do the Bins in there.

It’s the angle it’s at that’s the issue in my case. If they’d put the ■■■■ thing a couple of feet higher up the pole and angled it downwards by 30 to 45 degrees, it wouldn’t be a problem. Lack of joined-up thinking really; luckily our place have these “near-miss” report things which record potential accidents, so the management will either have to alter the light or (more likely) send out a memo to us drivers or they’ll get pulled up at the next audit for failing to rectify it.
