Check my Signature! ****Passed C+E*****

Well three minors which we think only one was, however credit to the examiner she did say she was being picky…

1 - Took a shunt…well I never
2 - Using steering when pulling off…well that what its intended for no??
3 - Raised the trailer too high so legs were off the air…really, does it not be easier to wind the legs up after…at least the last test I forgot to raise the trailer and went over the fifth wheel before realising.

Anyway relieved that I have achieved my dream of having a LGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, now better do some work and pay off the costs to justify it!!

Keep up the good work Truck Net UK as the forum is as they say in Leicestor “well good”

Congratulations. What’s your plans now?

Well do not have any experience in reversing apart from the test S bend that we did…

My instructor was showing off when he parallel parked it back at the yard as a car was parked in front of his space…flipping heck how did he manage that!!

Then on test a LGV driver did a 90 degree park into a tiny gap between two industrial units…flipping heck how will I ever do that if I have to!!

I did get a promise of work with a supermarket prior to my Class C+E so looking to arrange a meeting soon.

Just don’t feel the confidence on the agency side to be thrown into the deep end doing actual deliveries as opposed to the rigid vehicle deliveries that I am currently doing …

Also with the CPC classroom based does not show you how to practically secure a load so still a lot of confidence building & experience to attain…

Congrats 3 minors is a very respectable pass.

Congratulations!

I know what you mean, I have my c+e training next month after 4 years on a rigid. I’m abit concerned of going for an assessment drive after I’ve passed in a wag & drag, surely it’ll feel alot different jumping into an arctic for the first time. I’m hoping to get with a supermarket too at least there will be some training involved.

Congrats ex VAN driver!

Yes your initial few days, weeks, months of reversing are going to be a challenge…
But you should view it as exactly that, a challenge!!!

Learning how to reverse didn’t happen overnight for anyone, they all had to go through the pain of learning and you shouldn’t be concerned, worried or embarrassed that you’re going to screw it up, as you will screw it up! But that’s not important, what is important is the damage you do, so with that in mind take your time, don’t rush, if you are unsure get out and check, and above all do not let the pressure of a situation get to you! And in time it will come, and before you know it, you will be giving tips or advice to others…

But for this second pal, yep you’re screwed!!! :grimacing:

Best of luck…

Yep in the deep end, and yes good advice, don’t rush and let the buggers wait I mean what’s the worst they can do.

So this is what happened to me half an hour before my test

I was waiting to do a right turn onto Spencefield Lane in Leicester if anyone knows it…Patiently waiting for the opportune moment as cars were coming on the opposite side of the A47 (should be slowing down to 30 but never do)

A motorcycle then drove past me on the left hand side on the pavement and then a Merc Sprinter D333JAY (mobile DJ) as I was on Uppingham road a few cars behind decided to go on the opposite side of Spencefield Lane and conveniently passed me after my right turn. Lucky for him no cars were coming down to the give way…

On test I literally had to squeeze past an unloading arctic with a Audi (yes) parked on double yellow opposite…I had I would say 8" either side!!

Nice well done!
