Hi everyone
Looking for a cheap C+E refresher course in Manchester/North West. Seen quotes online over 200 quid, so trying to find a bit cheaper for 3-4 hours. I’m currently a full time bus driver but DESPERATE to get away!!!
and with September approaching seems like a good time to be given a chance on class 1
Also looking for a good agencies in Manchester / Warrington that are flexible with the 2 year insurance thingy. (Not Transline H&G) as they won’t entertain less than 2 years in my experience
Any info appreciated
Looking through your back posts it seems you have held CE for a few years so why would you worry about the 2 year thing?
Hi Rog
I mean 2 years experience sorry
Which i still don’t have under my belt. Just looking for a few hours reversing practice and coupling/upcouple to get back into the swing
Cheers

They look to see how long you have had the category on the licence in most cases it seems
Hi Rog
I have VERY limited c+e experience since passing my test. My last agency wouldn’t give me anything over class 2 unless did a refresher… Anyway, would give me a a lot of confidence doing a few hours reversing etc unless someone knows of an agency who would book me in for an assessment somewhere in the Man/Warrington area
Cheers

If you can get 4 hours for £200 you need to jump at it. After VAT that leaves just over £150 for the trainer. Fuel @ approx. £10 per hour added to trainer wages @ approx. £15 per hour (inc employment costs) wear and tear @ approx. £5 per hour. So the costs, apart from premises, depreciation and, dare I say it, an element of profit, come to £30 per hour = £120 for 4 hours.
I wish you much joy if you manage to find anything cheaper and would question the quality of the training.
All the best, Pete

The REPUTABLE trainers near me charge £155 +VAT for 3 hours of training. Which, as Pete breaks down above represents pretty good value for money considering what your getting.
But due to my sparkling personality charm and wit, it is my belief that the training company should be paying ME the money, just to have me grace them with my presence! (Opp’s sorry, I missed out that I am also a little sarcastic!
