Reading through the Rokold thread reminded me of these loonies almost blowing the mirrors off my lorry as they steamed through Holland with fresh & frozen pig meat for the Germans schnitzels.
Where are they now?

I used to deal with this company some years ago now when John Jerwood and Chris Brown worked in the office… real characters… both long since gone.
They used to run some proper subbies who could go to work with a vengance such as Richard Darling, Tommy Findley and others… Like all things nothing lasts forever and I am sure apart from half a dozen stalwarts thay give work away to the Dutch and the Germans (RTS) now as they get it done so much cheaper.
are they still around even? (i could’ve done a google i suppose ) they were somewhere near the start of the 2001 F&M outbreak, don’t know if that finished them or they just packed up transporting their stuff as neville suggests?
Can be found in smithfield market most nights . Still running to germany regular . And have a few cattle boxes and tippers also . Know a couple of their drivers , and it seems they are as mad as ever . Good money i understand if you wanna a bit of a challenge .

CHEALE OUT MATE
Werent Rokold taken over by Wincanton
Never drove like a loonie just fast as we had to do 3 Hamburg’s a week or 3 Ansbach’s, As the Germans wanted fresh sow’s and you didn’t get fresher then a Cheale piggy…
We never hung about when we were doing the BSE stuff either Dave, ahh the log book, what a wonderful thing
The logbook what a wonderful thing sure did help with them Chesterfields to Canterbury…
I know, 3hrs 30mins from Chesterfield to Canterbury was going some, glad I wasn’t paying for the diesel!
Their Abbattoir was not far from me at Warley Brentwood and I believe was where the F&m outbreak first started.Always intrigued as to why alot of the trailers were sign written Masie Cold (hope its spelt correctly) .Anyone know the reason behind this?? Always pulled by high powered top of the range kit which probably explains the journey times mentioned
Basically the transport arm of Cheal Meats… Kept things seperate.
I pulled for Masiecold for 5 years, although i stayed away for around 6 weeks at a time, it was the best job i ever had. Hard work, but good, quick money. John was a gentleman to work for although a hard task master!, Do him a favour & you got a bigger one back. The good old days.
