Charging for damage

Well, I’ve signed up and registered with a few agencies. Some of the delay is waiting for security checks to be done (ie for Parcelforce & securicor etc) so I’ve still not worked yet.

I have come across an agency that has a section in it’s T&C stating that if I cause any damage to the vehcle the agency can deduct it from my wages of up to £250.

As yet I have not gone back to that agency to tell them I’m available for work and show them my licence etc because of that one clause.

Whilst I am not going to go out and on purpose damage vehicles I don’t think I should be the one to foot the bill personally. Isn’t that why they have insurance??

I could work all week and only take home £10 due to some small problem and see it as get out for the agency paying me.

So what do you think?

Not done any agency work, but maybe this is to cover the excess they may get charged from the companies if you smash a mirror etc.

If you’re not happy with it, don’t sign with them…

I think you’d be a mug to encourage them.

Yes, you sound correct there :astonished:
