Charging a tablet?

I got one of these from Amazon:

Vehicle Voltage Meter - Ciggy Socket

12/24v

your charger in the truck wasnt up to charging it ie it was pumping out the wrong mA had the same issue with me htc 8x using the sat nav get a tomtom high power charger no problems now

It defo had enough power. There was a tint of burning smell on when I plugged it into the 12v ciggy lighter, like I said. My phone works fine by that means of charging. The tablet wouldn’t charge even on mains power after that so it must have fried something

My double socket adaptor did that when I plugged it in to a DAF LF. My hand still reminds me 6 months on. Dear god that hurt!
