DUE TO SEVERE BERTHING RESTRICTIONS AT THE PORT OF CALAIS FOLLOWING TECHNICAL PROBLEMS, OPERATION STACK — THE QUEUING SYSTEM FOR FREIGHT VEHICLES IS NOW BEING IMPLEMENTED ON THE M20.
ACCOMPANIED FREIGHT TRAFFIC WITH MUST USE THE M20, VEHICLES USING OTHER ROUTES, WILL BE REDIRECTED TO JOIN THE QUEUE. VEHICLES WILL THEN BE RELEASED FOR DOVER, AT INTERVALS AS AGREED BY KENT POLICE.
FREIGHT DRIVERS DROPPING TRAILERS MUST DISPLAY THE YELLOW OR BLUE ‘U’ LABEL, AS PREVIOUSLY SUPPLIED BY THE FERRY OPERATOR. ON ARRIVAL IN DOVER, PLEASE PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE EASTERN DOCKS, WHERE SHIPPING DETAILS WILL BE CONFIRMED.
DUE TO THE HIGH LEVELS OF FREIGHT TRAFFIC, TOURIST TRAFFIC HEADING FOR THE PORT OF DOVER IS ADVISED TO USE THE A2/M2 ROUTE TO AVOID CONGESTION.
All sailings with P&O Ferries and SeaFrance are subject to delay as berthing availability at the Port of Calais is severely restricted following technical problems. Both operators have suspended day trip traffic until further notice and space is limited.
Passengers are advised to contact their operator for more information. Although there are ongoing problems and restrictions at the Port of Calais, the Port of Dunkerque is operating normally and Norfolkline’s Dover - Dunkerque services will continue to accept passenger day trips and all excursion traffic.
