Changing into a different tractor unit

Just on a side note

Is it a different make of Truck you would be getting in and out of ?
Do they do a 3 points of entry/Exit assessment on you and sign to that effect ?
Example coming out of a truck with 4 steps and going into a truck with 3 steps ?

You maybe thinking of a civil claim a while back where a driver claimed the company had not told him of the change of steps setup. It read like a marginal decision but the driver failed in the claim.

That really happened? Any links, please?
I tried Goggling "you wont believe this" but my putor started smoking with the overload…

My working day starts the moment I get out of car in the yard and start loading up the lorry with my stuff. Driving a different unit every week though means I carry very little stuff with me and only takes me 10 minutes to load up

Reminds me of one of our night trunk drivers   usually drives an Iveco but one night he had to drive an Actros and he forgot to count to 4 and had to leap back wards :open_mouth:   next night he swapped to another Iveco

good job you don’t have any renault Magnum’s then . Remamber them - remember to do the sidestep shuffle or wear a parachute . lol

I’m primarily workshop based but do the odd delivery and a fair bit of the abnormal load escorting.

I think in one day I swapped in to 4 different vehicles, only took about 15mins to swap in to each vehicle from getting the keys to releasing the handbrake.

Confession time  (seeing as it’s Christmas  )
When I came off my Daf to the first Actros with the extra step, I ended up on my arse (■■■■■ style Conor) at least once first couple of days.   was ok though, so nobody need worry. :bulb:
Anyway, I put a claim in and got enough for a free holiday in Florida :sunglasses: .

Ok I made the last bit up.

You only do that once after moving into a Magnum
