I can see where your coming from with this.
back in 2003 I had a young girl run at the crossing and hit the button but continue running out into the road she was looking the other direction, she ran straight out in front of me and died at the scene.
I am not sure that if she was instilled/trained (green cross code style) to stop and hold the button that may have saved her life.
who knows.

[zb] hell. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone mate

It hit me a couple of years after the event but I am stronger for it now and try and make some good of it by trying to help other drivers.
Not many drivers get help from anyone when involved in unblameworthy accidents such as that, there is nothing set up to help them.

You feel the finger of blame is/was pointed squarely at you? Even though of the circumstances?

Kind of, it’s the “what if” factor that’ triggers a form of guilt.
Even when all the facts and witnesses back up your position you still doubt yourself.

In the evenings and night they should all go on flashing amber , proceed with caution, as per the continent .

In the daytime they are just free fun . i often press button and cross before standing on the other side and wait for vehicles to stop , before giving the drivers a cheery wave ,
I bask in the mutual sharing of a harmless joke ,
Before crossing back doing the same .

I cant describe in words how funny most people find this .

Tragic, the feeling that you COULD possibly be responsible is horrible, I feel for you pal!

One of our drivers had a near fatal accident up by the hospital near Dewsbury a few year ago and he felt the same. There were roadworks at a crossroads that had tempery lights working them. His was at green and as he’s going across the junction this woman comes from his right and side and he hits her side on and drags the car down into a bus stop about 20-30 yard away.
The woman was in a bad way but pulled through and a bus driver who had witnessed the whole thing said they had been having problems with the lights all the time, kids switching the generators off etc, the copper who turned up said that he had delt with a similar accident there only 2 week before. Our driver stayed off work for a couple of month, struggled to sleep and kept getting flashbacks, all the japanise whispers started at work by all the knobheads that work here.
He’s fine now, the case is still on going but the woman has dropped a right bollock by claiming she can’t work anymore due to her injuries however she has been seen going to work by someone checking up on her as her soliciters are trying to claim just under a million pound for the trauma and being unable to work :open_mouth: The accident investigators seem to think she had come out of a drive or somewhere after her traffic lights so not knowing if they were at green or red and just cracked on regardless. She was doing 35mph and our driver just under 40mph when the collision happend.
