temporary amendment to contract of employment-reduction of gauranteed hours and driver standards bonus
etc,etc,etc
so above is whats being done but all ive been given is a A4 sheet with this on,reductions, how long, how much,dates-from-too
id of thought you should be issued with a new contract for this period, but,is it legal as long as its written down
my query really is-length-it states the length on piece of A4 ,but pardon the pun,but is it worth the piece of paper its written on
i.e if it came to end of period and they said were carrying on with it,can piece of paper be used as a legal document to say you said this,so you have to stick to it ta
You have probably got legal cover on your house insurance - give them a ring for a genuine answer

i would of thought as they have given you the notice in writing then it would be legal and above board, as it says its only a temporary amendment to your contract for a set period, if nothing else changes in your contract why go to all the expense of printing all new contracts twice over, as the company is asking you to take a reduction in wages in a time where they could of just said sorry but we are going to lay you off, we have to save money so that we can keep you working till things pick up. alot of people have had to do it
I’m sure the legal beagles of your outfit will be well aware of when the stated time ends and will make necessary arrangements well before, so you won’t be put in that position…
…by the same token - do you really want to rock the boat too much? Times are hard for everyone out there and jobs aren’t that easy to come by, especially good ones…
