Change Address of Digi card

Coffeeholic:
With supporting documentation which it would be sensible to carry they would have no choice, and although not those specific countries they did in my case. Drivers in other EU countries will also move house from time to time so it won’t be something they haven’t encountered before.

You know what I am going to ask next…

What would be acceptable as supporting documentation

ROG, you’ve already said you have never been out of the country so it’s not something that is likely to affect you.

Is this something else which has been asked elsewhere?

The requirement is that you produce your digital driver card. There is no requirement as to how many days records that card must contain, so if you produce your current card and it only contains 3 days records you have complied with the EEC Regulation.

The requirement to produce records for a particular number of days only relates to tacho charts, printouts (where they were a legal requirement) and manual records. Not to how much data should be on a digital card.

Where a change of address is the reason for swapping the card, fill the form in (D777B) it’s the same form for new and replacement cards, just tick the correct box. Send the form off and keep using your current card. When you get the letter, download the current card before going to the test station. Remember to take two bits of ID; photocard licence or passport and a recent utility bill or similar with your new address on. The people at the test station will take your old driver card off you and return it to Swansea.

The only time that a driver card will be sent to your home address is; when it’s your first application or your card is malfunctioning and has been returned with the application form to Swansea. All other reasons; card lost, stolen or change of address and the card must be collected from your local test station or local DVLA tax office.

Thank you geebee45 & coffeeholic

Thank you geebee45 & coffeeholic

Rog you asked what documentation may be satisfactory. How about an EU acceptable Attestation form and a photocopy of the DVLA application form.

By handing your card in at a VOSA testing station they have all the time in the world to analyse the data :stuck_out_tongue:

Wheel Nut:
…and a photocopy of the DVLA application form.

That’s what I used to reduce doubt and shorten the arguing time. It worked.

Thanks got there in the end!!!

You actually got there ages ago but as usual ROG had other ideas. :stuck_out_tongue: Have you decided what to do about driving at the moment with no card?

I have my card only want to change the address on it just wanted to know about the info stored on it. I am a agency driver and it is down loaded after every shift and at the moment i am doing a print off every shift just to cover getting a pull and having a new card with less than 28 days records on it, But it seems this is not required for a digi card. Just waiting for the DVLA to send me the letter to pick it up.
thanks

Sorry my mistake, for some reason I misread the thread originally and thought you had sent the card off. My apologies but I’m sure your OP reads differently now than it did previously.

Err, … I’m sorry Neil, but you’ve infringed ROG’s copyright with that…

I’m suggesting a nice relaxing holiday, because you’ve obviously been dealing with ROG that long that you’ve started using his excuses… and maybe that’s a sign of potential burn-out. :grimacing:

:bulb: Please take it easy, cos we need you.

Sent off for change of address 24March for digi card received letter today 8th April saying it will be available to be collected after the 22nd of April from Cold Meece testing station. They don’t hurry !!!.

Maybe they give priority to the replacement cards for lost, stolen and damaged ones, they have a 15 day time limit which you don’t.

WTF is your problem? Why won’t you read the earlier post? If you took the time to do that, as previously suggested, you would see the following.

I called DVLA yesterday (due to their previously conflicting advice) about my change of address for licence/photocard and digicard, and a change of photo, and was told “It will take less than the quoted 15 working days. They always try to rush through commercial licences.”

Evidently not. :unamused:

My license did not take long,I phoned on the Thursday gave them the details over the phone and the women said that it would be in the post ASAP and i received it on the Saturday morning with a letter saying cut my old license in two and send it back.
