anyone got any photos or stories of them?
Used to see them doing a lot of Middle East in the '70’s,using Turkish drivers.
you won´t see many more of them now becuse they were taken over by Essers group in Belguim while ago
i rememeber there was an article about them in one of the mags running TGA mans to Turkey

They were professionals mate, very helpful, you never knew whether you were going to speak to a Cloggie or an Abi but they all or certainly all the ones I ever met, spoke good English, knew all the tricks, knew where to park and would help you out along the way.
Reading this post about Centrum’s, reminded me of an english driver who shall remain nameless. He had a Romanian Princess whom he insisted was faithfull to him and him only. His company allocated him a new Space cab Daf of which he was over the moon. On his first trip to roumo he was very excited to show his princess the inside of the cab ,with all the extras.When he asked her if she liked it ■■ she said yes its ok, its just like Centrums!!!.
Still see a lot of Centrum’s about,though most of them seem to be pulling container’s nowadays(Centrum containers) and they still have quite a few Turkish driver’s.
The old depot at Valkenswaard is still there.
Surely Esser’s must be MAN’s biggest customer in Europe■■? Though there are a few Iveco’s & Merc’s creeping into the fleet.Whenever I go past the depot in Genk it looks like an MAN compound,there’s hundreds of them,either new ones waiting to go on the road or old ones waiting to be taken away.
Esser’s have also recently bought out two other Belgian companies,Nijs from Lommel and Hellings from Bree.

I was involved in a similar story in Tangiers. I went out for a couple of flags with 2 drivers who had just arrived, one was talking about his “girlfriend” as we walked in the pub, she saw me first and gave me a big kiss as she realised he was just behind me. I had been in Tangiers almost 3 weeks and had met most of the girls 
There was another driver who had an F88 who sent all his money to Romania in the belief she was faithful, she was faithful to her family and kept them all fed and well clothed.
