Definitely a radio, digital even better. Union Jack and the various Virgin radio stations have limited DJ’s during the day so mostly continuous music and some programmes on talksport/talkradio are quite good. Also radio x for Chris Moyles breakfast show.

I think I could manage without the radio etc as my job doesn’t involve trundling along for hours at a time. Push comes to shove I’m happy to sing or whistle to myself. Automatic transmission, cruise control etc - again, I could happily manage without. I think the one thing I really appreciate is the adjustable air suspension - but then my work does involve numerous trailer swaps each day.

Possibly straying off topic but the new generation Scanias don’t have a CD player.

Without a doubt power steering, though a while without that luxury might sharpen up some who can’t be arsed to learn to maneuver efficiently.
Radio not bothered about, i only use 4 DAB indy stations and change channel when the ads come on, only having to mute the thing couple of times a day for simultaneous news, sorry, covid19 propaganda/fear broadcasts, then again i can go for days without switching the radio on at all.
I’d like to keep the heater, and mirror heaters, and aircon because modern lorry shapes cause a maelstrom of noise and turbulence if you run with the window open, if you could run with the windows open air con is seldom needed.
Not having to share the cab with 11+ litres of a Caribbean steel band at full chat.
On the basis that I have a Discman (which seems like an antique now) and also a portable radio, I will go with air seat. Thanks.
Not sure I’ve ever driven a truck with a CD player. My usual DAF has a fake slot (well indent) on the radio but maybe only tramper trucks come with them. Actually not sure it has power steering some days.
As for one thing - gotta be the cig lighter /12v socket if that counts. Obviously its to charge the phone and run the dashcam and in no way related to the {whispers} truckie sat navie thingy.

i cant stand the faceache type snowflake lemming retards on the phone in programs and although years ago i used to listen to radio 4 as it was the mostly only voice i could hear in a conversation then ive since had that avenue of enjoyment removed as its just mustnt upset muslim propaganda spouted nowadays.

ive a cpl of sd cards and usb sticks with all the music and movies plus a 2tb laptop with all the sounds or films i ever want to listen to and most important of all with all the tv programs and movies ive pirated its NO ADVERTS which have to be the most insulting assumption on any normal persons intelligence whatsoever.
im happy in my own dinosaur racist bigoted world that i try not to change,hence moving 14 years ago to northern ireland suits me fine as in reality its 1980 here in most aspects to the extent that they still carry out operations here using whiskey…

What’s a CD i couldn’t do without my 8 track…sing a long a max wouldn’t be the same either. if i had a second choice, it would have to be a bostrom
cracking open the quarterlight windows on my guy j4 was the nearest thing i got to aircon and that was having to drive the thing to saudi and back the first time i went.
the only other option was to catch a seagull on the ferry then whack it with a stick every now and then if it got too hot.

Just remembered. In 1982 my then boss took my radio out o the cab o the tipper (was wired up for radio so I put in a binotone radio lol), reason was I’m there to work not listen to bloody radio 1.
