Failed my Class1 driving test couple of days ago.
Examiner mark me 4 gear minors and 3 mirror minors for coming off the roundabout.
Never had failed any tests since school time. So it’s like a spit in my soul.
For this time I agreed with examiners decision, bearing in mind there was three gear minors. But…
What will be retest outcome. Is it depends from me for 100%?
Reason why I am asking.
From the moment when examiner took my licence in his hands first remark… Foreigner.
After doing quite good and quick reversing and uncoupling/coupling, remark…We are runing out of schedule
During the driving test examiner was quite grumpy and looking in n/s window!
After test examiner was moaning to my trainer that I was winding trailer too long time,
trainer had to remind him that the trailer is loaded!
So…
What can prevent him from marking me down 4 mirror minors just because…he wants so.
You can rewind in mind your test for say overtaking or braking or stalling, but mirrors…if you had 12 roundabouts on your test route?
Conclusion.
Yes. I can appeal.
Trainee driver appeals against say 20yrs driver and 10yrs examiner decision?
May be instead of introducing autos for test government could fund the CCTVs for training/test vehicles.
Thanks for reading.

Examiners can mark down what they see fit but you do have the option of having your instructor in with you on test providing you went to a training company that bothered to have the third seat fitted
The downside is that with a third party watching the examiner is unlikely to let small things go by

Dont commit the minors in the first place , in real life 4 mirror minors could be four cyclists or pedestrians , man up take his descision on the chin and show him that you can really drive when you take your re-test.
There is NO appeal against an examiners decision. You can only appeal if the test was not conducted as per the regulations.
Don’t waste your time blaming the examiner. Spend the time thinking about how to improve your mirror and general driving procedures.
Years ago I enquired about CCTV on tests. England will win the World Cup before the DSA allow that. It will never happen but as has been said your trainer can go with you on the test if there is another seat.
A successful appeal (which is very rare indeed) can only result in a free re-test anyway, it cannot change a fail into a pass.
That’s why I wondering. To have some grounds for appeal.
Of course. Once I’ll get over the test I won’t remember it again.
Have been driving service buses for two years in busy town 10hrs a day,
I would say you spend more time in mirrors and blind spots
rather than looking ahead.
Examinor mark me down three times for not looking in N/S
mirror when coming off the RB. Might be I am spending too much time
in O/S mirror to make sure that no cars trying to squeeze between trailer and RB.
Remember when PCV trainer teach us to play table tennis. N/S mirror-O/S mirror.
May be I should shout out when looking in mirror

Who said there’s less nerves for retest?
