WHY … you pays your parking fee it should be the responsibility of the charging company ie the services …

Pulled into a few MSA’s for a 45 this week and the amount of UK registered trucks parked up for obviously for a night out shocked me, flip-flops can park up for free but UK drivers paying £20+ :open_mouth: :unamused:

It amazes me that they don’t have it already, surely that must come under the definition of “secure parking”?!

motorway services are not classed as secure parking, never have been and never will be

It shocks me also, not the foreigners parking for free, but that any drivers, UK or otherwise, are daft enough to allow themselves to be ripped off by paying the extortionate amount those ■■■■■■■ s charge to o/n park at these ■■■■ holes.
I avoid both them and lay bys and use a bit of imagination when parking, only had 2 attempted but unsuccessful, thefts in 30+ years.

Probably working for firms that pay parking, and are taking advantage of the meal voucher.

So you don’t use laybys and MSAs, truck stops are few and far between depending on where you are in the country, where do you park up? Industrial estates?

Maybe he’s parking on people’s drives

Seems like the residents of Kent are up in arms with HGV’s parking on residential streets and breaking up the footpaths etc,
i did hear there were a lot of foreign trucks doing it and maybe Robroy is joining them on the side

Do truckers hang their “waste” on tree branches like dog walkers

Anywhere that has basic facilities nearby, a pub and/or chippy or cafe, Ind ests on edge of town, other depots on my present job, occasionally the odd truckstop, and general secret corners in and around town that I have found and used over the years that I keep to myself for obvious reasons.

I know you are joking bud, but when I was driving foreign reg trucks, I got away with all sorts by saying ‘‘Very sorry Sir, no speak good English Sir’’ it worked a treat every time

They’ll soon quick send you a capture from their CCTV cameras along with a £100 “fine” if you park for one minute over the two hours.

Aint that true!!! :unamused:

You won’t get a fine for parking 2 mins over the 2 hours at Toddington South services Harry. When I had 6 pallets worth of stuff nicked the other week we found out off the old bill that the ANPR cameras were not working! :unamused:
So no CCTV in the lorry park and not even ANPR cameras working. Oh they did have a cctv camera that covered the car park though so all is well

I like it how they say the wellbeing of our customers is paramount, surely if that was the case then they would allready have cctv installed in the first place :unamused:
Drivers should refuse to pay to park and when they get the fine through the post they should politely inform them that they don’t warrent a payment seeing as though they can’t supply even basic security measures.
