How far does a cbr check go back and what shows up on it

At last a question I can answer , usually it’s me asking the questions 
, I use to sort out the crb checks where i last worked ,the answer is it depends if it’s a standard or enhanced check, most police forces should remove spent convictions but don’t , so it may show everything , if it’s something from a long time ago most employers will overlook it depending on the offence .

"Both standard and enhanced CRB certificates show details of all cautions, reprimands, warnings and convictions you have had since you were 10 years old.
In addition the chief police officer can include what is known as approved and additional information at his discretion if he believes it is relevant to the job.
You can very easily check what, if anything, the police hold about you on the police national computer. To do this you need to contact the Data Protection officer at your local police station and ask for what they call a Subject Access Check. It will cost a little money (the police will tell you) but will reveal everything held on record about you."

Depends how thorough you wanna check over your cbr, I check my gsxr over before every ride! 
go to your local police station, fill in a form, hand over a tenner and the will send all the info they hold on you
I only have cautions so I’m under the inpression that they are spent as soon as they are issussed? I did read that on a website last night…
On a good note sent off 3 forms for bus companys my local one won’t be doing training till Aug (stagecoach) cozs of the olympics.

Cautions should be cleared off your record when they’re spent, you can read more about CBR checks here

Cautions are indeed spend from the time they’re issued - see paragraphs 1(1)(b) and 3(1) of schedule 2 to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, as inserted by schedule 10 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008. In most circumstances, spent convictions and cautions are treated as if they never happened.
However, certain forms of bus driving are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, as they involve working with children or vulnerable adults. Usually the applicability of this exemption is stated explicitly, and employers who have some exempt work often allow drivers to opt out of that work if they do not want to be involved.
Spent convictions and cautions that are on the Police National Computer show on an enhanced CRB check (details of what is included can be found on the Criminal Records Bureau website), which will be obtained in respect of exempt work such as school contracts. It is up to an employer’s policies how they handle the disclosure of spent convictions and cautions - it often depends on what you were cautioned for and how long ago the caution was issued. Be aware - it is usually gross misconduct (and automatic dismissal) to hide spent cautions when the exemption applies - the CRB check will usually find you out.
