CB radios and Europe

Hi all, quick question if anyone can help please?

Going to be travelling to europe in the spring with a few mates and their cars, into Germany, Poland, Croatia and then head back to England. Just wondering as my CB has the “EU” band, does this literally mean i flick it onto this and have no problems driving in Europe…apart from Belgium

We use the normal walie talkie things, and are pretty naff at certain distances only with a base cb pack for £80, we can use them time and time again. Ill just use the one out the wagon

yes you can use them just with the flick of a switch, in france the “general” channel is 26 but no idea about the countries you mention though

Brilliant cheers, my rig has all different presets as well as the EU band, but the basic rigs have just UK/EU. Kind of making sure before we all get knocked off by the polizei

bit of a grey area though as whilst using them they are not illegal but the same law applies as phones and hands off the wheel scenario

Ah right, so not like here then where we can use them no problem…or at least i’m under that impression

well somebody posted recently about being fined for using his satnav whilst driving in i think spain so maybe he was “manually touching” his satnav? is there another way of using a satnav?
and a couple of years ago me and britladinspain were passing granada on the way north chatting away and the guardia civil stopped him and fined him 150 euros for using the CB so i’m not really sure what the law is but the CB is more widely used in europe than the UK as there are lots less of the homebasers slagging off truck drivers thankfully
