CB Radio

For the last few weeks I’ve been away from my usual cruddy Scania, and have been piloting a Daf Super Space Cab. What a lovely lorry.

It’s fitted with a CB radio and this is a real “blast from the past”. I haven’t had one for years.

Does anyone else still have a CB?

10/10 'til we do it again…

Vince

You missed out an option

Still have the kit, but its gathering dust in the cupboard

I voted - don’t but used to !! which isn’t strictly true cos I do own 2 cb’s - it’s just that they are not fitted into a truck but taking up space in my workshop

I took the last one out my F10 two years ago and haven’t bothered/got round to fitting in in my current truck :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I voted don’t but used to. I had one as a kid & loved it. I would love to get one again but it’s a bit difficult cos I’m generally cab-hopping.
Plus I can’t afford one at the mo!

I always had a CB in the UK, I had loads of fun winding people up with it

You can’t survive as a driver here without one :exclamation: even if you don’t use it on the road most deliveries use the CB to call drivers to unloading docks, if you don’t have one you can spend a lot of time sitting on a wooden bench.

Last time I used one was doing the Pods for the Millenium wheel from France.

We had an ■■■■■■ car who only spoke French, a driver who only spoke English and 2 others who muddled through in any language we could make the pilot car driver understand us with

The pilot car would give us a warning, we would say “Oui Oui” and then get stuck in the middle of a village

I still have a Ham Int in the cupboard, but don’t use it as it doesn’t have a FM board fitted.
When I can find someone who will fit a FM board so I have all the channels in an easy to use manner I’ll start using it again (possibly.)

We need them for the 75, but we dont use handles or any of that 10-4 good buddy! crap…

i used to use when only running with a mate otherwise i was fed up with people playing music or abuse like scab in a cab im not allowed one where i work now but wouldnt really bother i never really bothered when people when going opposite direction like i say just when running with someone… roger that

I voted yes but turn it off between Corley and Stoke (House bound muppets)

I’ve got one fitted, it is on almost all of the time too. I switch it off around Brum and Glasgow due to the housebound numpties but its on the rest of the time.

Catch you on the airwaves some time good buddy   .

Used to have one, well its like so many others, gathering dust in the shed, though it needs the bin really, cos it was gradualy running out of usable channels. When i changed jobs i thought i’d buy a new one at one point, but that point hasnt arrived yet. I only mainly used it when running with someone, but never seem to do that these days, so i dont appear to be missing it that much. But you never can tell when that point might arrive

Let Them Truckers Roll 10-4, Good Buddy
.

I’m still usingan an old modified Stalker9. If the music muppets start I switch to sideband and see if I can have a chat.

CQ CQ CQ DX

I got one  but unfortunatly it is off for most of the day as i work in stoke/newcastle everyday and that [zb]ing [zb] homebaser wants shooting or his wheelchair tipping over [zb] :imp: :imp: :imp:

they don’t like it when you lean over the passenger side of the scania and accidently plug it in the 24v socket :open_mouth: . i thought the cab was on fire :open_mouth:
