CB Radio

Hi all

Is there a protacol on using a CB and how do you know what channel people are on

Your new company run on channel 3. (Where’s the “smug” smiley?) most others run on 19, or if you see a few with cb twigs running together just have a search around till you find them.

Turn it off when passing Doncaster, 'cos they’re all eejits who have yet to discover facebook.

all the quarry lads are on CB,couldn’t do without it on some sites.good fun as well…unless you’re running with a right bore :frowning:

Just put an elastic band around the microphone to hold the button in and just keep talking to yourself, thats all i do.

Ch9 used to be the emergency channel, is that not the case now?

I thought CB was dead until I looked on eBay, they are worth a bloody fortune

Channel 19 is the recognised breaking channel and is what you should be on when not in any conversation with anyone, holding a conversation on the channel 19 is very annoying to others, so move to another channel.

They’re only worth what people are willing to pay.

Ken.

us paddys run on ch19 on a am set. helps us see the cops and around cornors on the a75  :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Nostalgia is king with CB radio.

People asking for, and generally getting, mad money for radios that in some cases are a minimum of 20 years old.

Big problem is that with the replacement arts and dress up kits it is quite easy to make something look like new when in fact it’s butchered to bits inside. Never has the phrase “buyer beware” been more applicable.

As for the UK today it’s pretty quite apart from the odd net in built up areas. I’ve even found good old “paddy” can be hard to find on AM these days too. No doubt due to the fact he’s lying on the dole at home while Milo and Vladimir are piloting the trucks around the highways of Europe.

Cheers
Neilf

I used to love my CB back in the day, on the odd occasion it broke I felt like a 15 yr old without facebook :frowning:

“Stardust Mick” is my handle, i love them they’re great.
