BB I have a eyeball card with Tristar on my handle was Curlytop of the Mermaid Squadron, my wind up handle was Puff Pastry.

Basilbrush:
CB handles, they go back a long way don’t they. I started using the handle Tristar. I worked night trunk for tNT & they started a service called Tristar.I picked it up & it stuck to me. I still use it now.

I ran with some wonderful pople over the years. Birdman TNT, Motorola TNT, Brandyman TNT,Devon ■■■■ TNT, Ten Speed Baileys,Chokechain Magnet & Southern,Fairy liquid Suttons,Red Baron Carpet Express,Paintman & Paintmate Berger,Major Tom HH Williams,Warlock Tibbet & Britten,Chunky ECC,Little white Bull Atlas express, Biffo & Touchwood Crystal, Beanpole, Runner Bean, Broad bean & Redneck from Wilkinson/Federal express. Red Rider Bampton cattle transport, Night Trader. So many others, like Phil dowell TNT, Bill keel TNT Len Valentine TNT all lovely people but it’s a long time ago.

Home bases we used to chat to every night up & down the motorways & across towns were amazing, one or two used to talk to us on the way up & if the weather was bad, they’d stay on until the last one of us had gone back through homeward bound. SAdly a lot of bucket mouthing finished a lot of them & the job’s the loser because of it.

If anyone remembers me, I’d love to get in touch again.

Dave the Renegade:
What about the lady breaker that was near Michaelwood services on the M5,She must have been high up on the Cotswolds, the way she came boomingg into this area.

I’ve heard her Dave; There’s also some one in the Fairford area that gets out too far (discussing subjects like what’s on tv, health problems etc  )
When I drove a loading shovel, I was known as “Sandman”. CB handles have died out around here and it seems the only drivers who use cbs are tipper drivers and Last of the Summer Wine impersonators (see above)

I still use a homebase, nothing as powerful as I used to have in the good old days.Have one in my transit and was chatting to a tarmac haulier today Nathan, who shouted me as we met on the A44.Just about all the tippers this way use them,a lot are not what you would call real CB breakers. They just use them for information. There are a few of us who have always been on since the AM days before they became legal.I think this and the mobile phone has taken the place of CB nowadays.
Cheers Dave.

Ch34 for anyone in the Oxfordshire area; If you hear “******g bonus” “not that place again”…“Nathan, put your ******g foot down!” Chances are you’re listening to Smiths drivers  And, should you hear “Councillor James” complain his 4wheeler’s dirty…and stand well clear of the speaker

people always called me swiller or swillpot
