hi, parked at steenvorde services for the night as i couldnt make the port in my hours. crs woke me up to say that the trailer had been broken into. the copper and me both checked inside the trailer and could not see anythng wrong. nice copper sealed the trailer and signed cmr. went through the co2 check at dunkirk with no problem, got my ticket, went through uk immigration co2 check and BINGO!! 7 indians hidden in the consignment. not a happy teddy! I’m not writing this looking for sympathy or advice , just to say be very careful out there people. this can happen to you and the immigration people said that the problem is getting worse on a scale they cant understand. i’ve just got to wait for a judgement letter now. good luck
Steenvorde, do you mean the Texaco on the corridor? bit risky to say the least.
Why not try the baccy shop off J1A, Alveringhem -5 mins off motorway towards Ieper
Free shower, coffee machine and bloody good cctv

Yeah right. Every country in Europe knows that these economic migrants only want to get to the UK, because of our soft treatment. The police in these countries if they bother to arrest them process and release them, knowing they will continue on their way to the UK.
The French authorities in Calais turn a blind eye unless they have to intervene, and once again they release them knowing they will eventually make it to the UK.
I was in Calais when they closed Sangatte, and the red-cross immediately opened another refuge in the town so the never-ending cycle of the immigrants trying to get to the UK could continue.
It will continue, and it will get worse until one thing happens: The UK Government gets some balls and reminds our European ‘partners’ of their obligations under the Schengen agreement - that’s the rules that were signed requiring member states with external borders to police those borders and to take responsibility for any ingress through those borders.
What is our government doing about it at the moment…? Trying to persuade the Grench Government to allow us to pay for flights back to their natural countries for the illegals still in France.
So these scum don’t even have to get to the UK for our taxes to used to sort the problem.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for proper immigration and for offering safe passage for those that genuinely require it, but enough is now enough.

Steenvorde is the Belgian border crossing off the A25, not on the corridor, but whether you park in Alveringham or Antwerpen, you are going to get the same problem at Calais or anywhere within 100 kilometres.
At the moment the biggest problem is fencejumpers because of the delays caused by the tunnel fire, trucks are having to queue up on the main road, then drive through the hoverport and into the dock. It makes it easier than catching a bus.
only had it happen to me once (so far) and not a clever bunch so found them easily on the check in the morning.
Here’s an idea I’d that I have often thought about. How about equipping trailers with remote intruder alarms. PIR detectors in the trailer and even door sensors especially for fridges etc. The unit will have a keypad and warning buzzer in the cab (for changing units a code can be used to activate each panel using the trailer number etc. as the code) the trailer will have an audible alarm and beacon on the outside.
Each truck alarm would cost around £250 ish and be completely wireless so a ■■■■ site cheaper then being caught with illegals. Would also potect the load when parked up.
The question is do you feel that haulage companies would pay for this additional level of security?
LOLOLOL Like as in call the police who might send a panda down in 3 hours time after your trailer is empty? That is why I asked what to do when the alarm went off. The alarm idea is a good one but it’s what to do afterwards.
